We will book you in for you repair or gearbox rebuild, in most cases of a rebuild we mostly see surprisingly enough in main agent full service history cars that have done 80-100k miles, this being because they have a sticker on the gearbox sump stating that its a " sealed unit /lifetime oil/no need to service" this is wrong as these gearboxes are no different to any other gearbox, they have oil and filter like any other gearbox and if they are not serviced the oil inside will break down and it will cause damage internally .

We will remove your gearbox then strip it down for inspection,making sure the old oil from your box has no metal fillings from the torque convertor , in most cases we fit a master overhaul kit which includes all clutches linings and seals, then inspect the gearbox valve body which controls all the gear changes, usually the the valve body will be clogged up by the burnt clutch powder cased by 1000s of miles of slipping clutches , if in the rare case there are any damaged hard ware in the box such as drive shafts,splines, valve body and oil pump, there would be an extra charge but only on a cost only basis.

After gearbox valve body and torque converter being full checked and inspected its time for the recon gearbox to now be refitted back to your car then filled up with the correct fluid, when ready and all the gearbox ecu previous faults have been cleared and adaptive setting reset we will then take to car out for a test drive.
